Hair Care.

• For a quick fix to tame split ends- Seal them with a slick of vaseline.
• To tame flyaway hair- Anti Static Clothes Spray works just as well on hair as on clothes. Apply to hairbrush & brush through rather than applying directly to hair.
• Short cuts to curling- Spray hair with setting lotion & put rollers in BEFORE showering or bathing(wear a shower cap). The steam from the water will help set the curls. Only remove rollers when you're hair is completely dry.
• If you have greasy hair- Avoid rinsing your hair with hot water as this disrupts the balance of the scalp by increasing oil production.
• Boost hair shine & remove tangles by using vinegar as a rinse after shampooing. Dilute 1 tablespoon of vinegar in 600ml of water & pour over hair. Comb through & then rinse with warm water.
• For a final rinse use cold water. Hot water causes the cuticle to swell and makes the surface of the hair appear dull. Cold water will close the cuticles, ensuring all over shine.
• Never towel dry your hair- it robs your hair of moisture and elasticity. Squeeze excess moisture from hair with your fingertips & then blot your hair with a towel.
• Never brush wet hair- hair cuticles are swollen to twice the normal size when wet & are susceptible to damage. Comb hair with a wide toothed comb, in sections, starting with the ends, until hair is tangle free.
• To tame cuticles once hair is dry- spray a fine mist of hair spray onto a comb and run it through the hair, this will flatten cuticles, giving the hair a neat, polished finish.
  Lipstick.

• To improve the staying power of lipstick, blot the lips after application and reapply. Do this several times and then add a final coat of lipstick, alternatively, once you've applied lipstick, place a tissue over the lips & dust with a small amount of loose powder & remove the tissue.

Lipliner.

• Smooth a foundation over the lips to prime before you apply liner or lipstick.
• Invest in a lipliner close to the natural colour of your lips and then team with ANY shade lipstick.
• Use lipliner to define and SHADE the entire lip area otherwise you'll be left with an unsightly line when your lipstick wears off!

Lip gloss

• Lip gloss is ideal for highlighting or enhancing your lips natural colour but because of it's consistency it tends to glide off after a couple of hours or seep into fine lines around your mouth.
• To overcome this, dab gloss onto the CENTRE of the upper & lower lip & purse your lips together.  This creates the illusion of an all over gloss!
• To enhance a pout, dab silver lip gloss onto the CENTRE of the lower lip.
• Protect your lips with a lip balm or lipstick containing SPF 15 . The lips don't contain any melanin and the lower lip is the most common site for lip cancer.

Eyes.

• Use a white eyeliner to define the rim of the lower lash line. This instantly opens your eyes & makes your eyes appear brighter!
• To enhance small eyes, avoid using dark eyeshadow and concentrate colour on the socket lines and outer corners of your eyes.
• To lift droopy eyes, shade the outer corners of the eyes, tapering upwards and outwards.
• To elongate round eyes, use colour on the mid and outer eyelid. Don't apply eyeliner on the lower lash line.

Eyebrows.

• If plucking is painful, smooth some babies teething gel over the eyebrow before you start plucking to help numb the area.
• To tame unruly eyebrows- don't splash out on expensive products, slick moisturiser, hair gel or lip gloss through your brows and comb to neaten them.  An old mascara wand(cleaned of course) will suffice as a brow comb.

Nails.

• To make nail polish last, store it in the fridge.
• For even consistency, never shake the bottle. Turn it upside down once & then roll between the palms of your hands.

4 Steps To Perfect Polish.

1. Apply a fast drying base coat, making sure it goes on thinly to provide an even surface. Let this dry for 60 seconds. 
2. Apply polish in 3 strokes- down the centre of the nail & then 1 either side. Leave a small margin free around the cuticle for a professional finish.
3. Paint on a top coat to protect the nails.
4. When nails are dry, run your fingers under cold water to help set the polish.
